DRIB BiographyCharles A. Leone, CPCU, Executive Vice PresidentChuck got a head start in his insurance career with an undergraduate degree in insurance and risk management. He has an MBA in finance and holds the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriting designation. Chuck leads several dedicated practice groups providing consultative risk management services to very specific industry sectors. In construction and real estate development, Chuck has designed alternative risk funding programs for residential developments and was named a Fellow of the Harry Loman Foundation for his research on construction defect insurance. Chuck also services a diverse business clientele of cleantech and renewable energy companies whose products and services harness renewable material and energy sources that cut or eliminates emissions and waste. Under Chuck's leadership this practice group provides risk management support service to companies whose values are based on economic, environmental, and social criteria. Chuck is a member of Cleantech Venture Network, The Organic Trade Association
and the insurance steering committee of The American Council on Renewable
Energy. Stephen S. Meeker, CPCU, ARM, Senior Vice PresidentFollowing graduation at Bucknell University, Steve went on to receive the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal while serving as an Army Officer in Vietnam. After his military service, he worked with three of the largest national insurance companies in New York and San Francisco, in both sales and management positions. He received the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1978 and the Associate in Risk Management degree in 1979. In addition, Steve has also been a member of the Insurance Faculty at Golden Gate University. Steve joined Diversified Risk a few months after the firm was founded in 1977. Steve specializes in larger commercial insurance programs and has also functioned in the capacity of an outsourced Risk Manager for one of his publicly owned clients. Steve has served on a number of community organizations including: · Treasurer and member of Board of Directors, The Olympic Club. Steve's interests include his family and golf and he currently is a member
of Golf Digest's rating panel which conducts annual surveys for the top
Golf Courses in America. John Schreiner, Senior Vice PresidentAfter graduating from UC Davis in 1975, John began his insurance career working in the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices of a large international insurance company gaining a solid foundation in underwriting and loss control. He then joined a well respected regional insurance brokerage and became a valued member of the Diversified Risk team in 1985. With over 25 years of experience, John has worked with clients in most industry segments. Today his emphasis is serving Public Entities, Architect and Engineers, Manufacturers, Technology Companies and other Service Related Industries. He has developed specialized strengths in Wrongful Act coverages such as Errors and Omissions, Employment Related Practice Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Public Officials and School Board Legal Liability. John's other specialty is Workers' Compensation insurance where he emphasizes management practice as the cornerstone for controlling the Total Cost of the Insurance and Loss Financing Program.

in our accelerated training program. David W. Handy, CPCU, Vice PresidentDave started his insurance career after graduating from UC Berkeley. He joined Royal Insurance Company in 1981 as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. His training and background includes commercial property, general liability, professional liability, workers’ compensation, crime and boiler and machinery. In 1988, he joined Johnson and Higgins as a broker responsible for domestic and international accounts. He developed his area of expertise in the hi-tech and bio-tech marketplace, focusing primarily on the professional liability risks. In 1996, Dave joined Diversified Risk as a Broker and plays an active role in developing new clients and leading the Technology Department. Marcia L. McCune, CPCU, Vice PresidentMarcia, a graduate of UC Berkeley, received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1977, started her insurance career with a major insurance company in San Francisco. After two years in their Management Training Program, she joined Diversified Risk Insurance Brokers. In 1980, Marcia was elected to Vice President/Broker at Diversified Risk. Since becoming a Broker, she has developed an extensive client base in Northern California with a specialty of automatic sprinkler contractors. The American Institute for Property & Liability Underwriters awarded her the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1981. UnderwritingEvelyn Taylor, Vice President, Director of Client ServicesPrior to her entrance in to the insurance industry, Evelyn graduated from University of Montana with a BA degree in Foreign Languages. This was a great asset to her in her subsequent two-year term with the United Nations in East Africa. Evelyn began her insurance career in 1973, entering an intensive training program at a large East-Bay insurance brokerage firm. During that time, she completed IIAA and CPCU courses. In the formative years of Diversified Risk, Evelyn served on the Board of Directors of the Oakland Association of Insurance Agents and as an instructor for a regional community college. During her years at Diversified Risk, Evelyn has been instrumental in all agency operations, including servicing large line accounts, Marketing, Insurance Company relations, establishment of Underwriting procedures and standards, staff training, management of Underwriting, Claims, Surety Bonds as well as liaison departments. Evelyn was also an in-house underwriter for a major international insurance company. Customer Service and Automation/Technology standards are of particular interest and concern for her, and she is adept at keeping the client the focal point in all of her endeavors. In addition to management responsibilities, Evelyn serves as the Systems Manager of Diversified’s Agency Automation System and is active in the formation of a related Internet project.
